  • WHEN...Through this afternoon.

  • IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in significant flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, urban areas, highways, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  • Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop this through the day and evening over the Permian Basin, Trans Pecos, Davis Mountains, Marfa Plateau and Big Bend region as an upper level low slowly moves westward over the region. Localized rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches with isolated amounts over 4 inches will be possible with the heaviest showers and thunderstorms that develop. Heavy rainfall over a short period of time may result in flash flooding.

At 347 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.75 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  • At 245 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 5 and 10 inches of rain have fallen over the past 48 to 72 hours with up to 2 to 3 inches in the past 2 hours. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  • IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Residents of many low lying homes in Crystal City flood in less than a day from a crest in Uvalde. Roads and bridges are damaged above Barksdale to below Carrizo Springs. Flow ranges from one half mile to four miles wide in the flood plain, trapping livestock and destroying equipment in the flood plain.

Highway 55 crosses Hackberry Creek above Barksdale and the Nueces River at Barksdale. Farm to Market 337 crosses Camp Wood Creek east of Camp Wood in three places. All these crossings have had vehicular related drownings.

  • WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

  • WHERE...Devils River at Bakers Crossing 19N Of Comstock.

  • WHEN...Until early Sunday morning.

  • IMPACTS...At 6.0 feet, (1.8 meters), Minor lowland flooding extends into low areas of the flood plain with no significant impact. At 8.0 feet, (2.4 meters), Moderate lowland flooding reaches the Highway 163 bridge floor several miles below Juno. This level is turbulent and dangerous for inexperienced swimmers, canoeists and kayakers.

  • At 9:15 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 2.7 feet.

  • Bankfull stage is 4.0 feet.

  • Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Saturday morning to a crest of 6.7 feet early Saturday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday afternoon.

  • WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

  • WHERE...Rio Grande River at Eagle Pass.

  • WHEN...From late tonight to early Sunday morning.

  • IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, (6.4 meters), Water reaches Ryan Street above Shelby Park. River flow is to the edge of the bluff on the left bank at Eagle Pass. Livestock in the flood plain can be trapped and drowned. Any equipment in the flood plain will be flooded or damaged. At 25.0 feet, (7.6 meters), Major flooding threatens the lowest homes and businesses in Eagle Pass. Livestock are trapped and potentially drowned in the flood plain below Del Rio to above Laredo. Roads and low bridges near the river flood and are dangerous.

  • WHERE...Guadalupe River at Hunt.

  • WHEN...Until late tomorrow evening.

  • IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding reaches the floor of Schumacher Crossing east of Hunt preventing easy travel to western parts of the county. Areas of the headwaters are isolated temporarily as low water crossings flood. At 15.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding puts a few feet of water over Schumacher Crossing near Hunt. Numerous secondary roads and bridges are flooded and very dangerous.

  • At 7:50 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 13.8 feet.

  • Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.

  • Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:50 PM CDT Thursday was 19.4 feet.

  • Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning and continue falling to 8.7 feet Tuesday evening.

  • IMPACTS...At 39.0 feet, Major flooding reaches secondary roads and low bridges near the river making them extremely dangerous to motorists. The lowest residences flood from Kendall County to Canyon Lake. Picnic and camping facilities in Guadalupe River State Park upstream are severely flooded. Roads, marinas, and many parks and facilities at Canyon Lake flood. At 43.0 feet, Major flooding reaches several lowest homes below Comfort to Canyon Lake. Numerous roads and bridges are flooded and dangerous. Lowest facilities in Guadalupe State Park are severely damaged. Parks, docks and roads around Canyon Lake are flooded and damaged.

  • At 7:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 21.8 feet.

  • Bankfull stage is 25.0 feet.

  • Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening to a crest of 40.1 feet late this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning.

  • Flood stage is 30.0 feet.

  • Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 42.1 feet on 07/03/1932. The crest is not expected to reach the level reached in the 07/03/2002 flood which was 43.75 feet.

  • WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon.

  • IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding begins with water well into the floodplain on the right upstream bank and within inches of spilling over the east approach to the bridge at FM 456. The river will be almost one quarter mile wide in the vicinity of the gage.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  • At 7:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 26.2 feet.

  • Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.

  • Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:30 PM CDT Thursday was 27.9 feet.

  • Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tonight and continue falling to 6.2 feet Tuesday evening.

  • Flood stage is 24.0 feet.

  • Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 26.2 feet on 04/19/2015.

  • WHEN...Through Friday evening.

  • IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  • Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall are expected over portions of West Central Texas today through early Friday evening. High moisture values will fuel highly efficient rain-producing storms, with model guidance indicating near-stationary clusters capable of producing 2 to 4 inches of rain per hour. This could lead to additional rainfall totals tonight and Friday of 2 to 5 inches over the Watch area, with isolated totals even higher.

  • IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  • Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected across West Central Texas tonight and into the day on Friday. Some of these storms may extend north into the Abilene, Roby, and Rotan areas, where rainfall earlier this morning reached 5-8 inches in some locations. With soils already saturated, any additional rainfall will quickly run off and produce flooding. Additional rainfall totals of 1-3 inches will be possible tonight into Friday. Isolated areas may be even higher.

  • WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

  • WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Bandera, Blanco, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, Llano, Maverick, Medina, Real, Uvalde, Val Verde and Zavala.

  • WHEN...Through Friday morning.

  • IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding somewhere in the watch area. Considerable to locally catastrophic flash flooding impacts are likely for the southern Edwards Plateau, Rio Grande, Hill Country, and US 90 corridor west of San Antonio. Excessive runoff will result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Catastrophic impacts are possible downstream of the heaviest rains. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  • Intense rainfall rates and compounding effects from multiple rounds of storms will maintain a dangerous flash flood threat through Friday morning. Additional rain amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible within the Flood Watch area with isolated amounts up to 8 inches possible in the Rio Grande Plains, southern Edwards Plateau, Hill Country, and US 90 corridor west of San Antonio.
