WHAT...Air Quality Health Advisory for Wildfire Smoke.

WHERE...Ouray, San Juan, Hinsdale, and eastern Montrose and San Miguel Counties. Locations include, but are not limited to Ouray, Silverton, Lake City, Montrose, and Telluride.

WHEN...900 AM Thursday July 16 to 900 AM Friday July 17

IMPACTS...Moderate to heavy smoke from the Gold Mountain Fire and Elk Fire is possible throughout the advisory area through at least Friday morning.

HEALTH INFORMATION...Public Health Recommendations: If smoke is thick or becomes thick in your neighborhood you may want to remain indoors. This is especially true for those with heart disease, respiratory illnesses, the very young, and older adults. Consider limiting outdoor activity when moderate to heavy smoke is present. Consider relocating temporarily if smoke is present indoors and is making you ill. If visibility is less than 5 miles in smoke in your neighborhood, smoke has reached levels that are unhealthy.

WHERE...Douglas, Jefferson, Denver, western Arapahoe, western Adams, Broomfield, Boulder, Larimer, and Weld Counties

WHEN...400 PM Thursday July 16 to 400 PM Friday July 17

IMPACTS...Ozone Action Day Alert is now in effect for the Front Range Urban Corridor. Ozone will be in the Moderate to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range on Thursday and Friday throughout the northern Colorado Front Range. The highest concentrations are most likely in the western portions of the Denver Metro area from Golden northward through Boulder; including the lower foothills. For Colorado air quality conditions, forecasts, and advisories, visit: https://www.colorado.gov/airquality/colorado_summary.aspx If possible, please help us reduce ozone pollution by limiting driving gas and diesel-powered vehicles until at least 4 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2026. Colorado is also addressing ozone pollution through state policies. WHEN...900 AM Thursday July 16 to 900 AM Friday July 17

IMPACTS...Moderate to heavy smoke from the Aspen Acres Fire is possible in southwestern Pueblo County until at least Friday morning. Heavy smoke is most likely during the morning hours.
