How Rankings Are Calculated

Each ZIP code receives a Home Safety Score (0–100) based on four data dimensions: EPA water violation history, lead exposure risk, county-level radon classification, and FEMA flood claim records. State averages are computed from all ZIP codes within that state. Rankings are updated as new EPA SDWIS data becomes available.
