- In 2024, the North Tonawanda Water Department installed new lighting in the Pumping Station with in-house personnel, this was a crucial upgrade for the safety of the staff as well as an improvement to working conditions. The Water Treatment Plant Operations department repaired, patched, primed, and painted the exterior of our Sedimentation Basin Walls that totaled up to over 5,000 sq. ft. A centrifugal pump at our Toellner Storage tank facility was completely rebuilt by in-house personnel, along with a rebuilt ross valve, this will ensure that our backup storage facility will be in good working order for emergency supply of water to the city or to meet peak demands. Our Aluminum Sulfate Chemical Bulk Storage tanks were inspected and passed with good standing condition and are now on a 5-year inspection interval. Unidirectional flushing continued throughout our distribution system. The raw water intake was flushed to prevent buildup of sediment.
