How to opt out
If your address appears in our Lead Pipe Lookup display and you would like the record removed, send us an email request. Use the prefilled button below — it opens your default email client with the correct subject line and a starter template.
What to include
- Your full street address, including ZIP code
- Confirmation that you are the owner, renter, or authorized representative of the property
- Optional: a brief reason for the request (not required)
Response time
We respond within 7 business days of receipt. Once removed, your record will not appear in our display going forward.
What opt-out does and does not do
Opt-out removes the record from the ZipCheckup display. It does not remove the record from the underlying utility public dataset (e.g., NYC DEP for New York or Pittsburgh PWSA for Pittsburgh), which remains publicly accessible at the source. To request removal from the underlying public dataset, you would need to contact your water utility directly.
About the underlying public record
US water utilities publish lead service line inventory data under federal regulation (Lead and Copper Rule Revisions 2021, Lead and Copper Rule Improvements 2024) plus state-level requirements (e.g., NYC Local Law 65, PA DEP Ch. 109). ZipCheckup republishes the data in a homeowner-friendly format; we are not the original publisher.
