Four steps from idea to submission.

  1. Register Your Interest

    Drop your email above. We'll notify you when official dates are announced and send you the starter kit.

  2. Build Your Project

    Use ZipCheckup data via the API, npm/Python packages, or raw data downloads. Combine with any other open data you like.

  3. Submit via GitHub

    Push your project to a public GitHub repo. Include a README and a 2-minute video demo. Open source required.

  4. Winners Announced

    Date TBD—register to be the first to know. Judging by expert panel plus community vote.

Who can participate?

Anyone, anywhere in the world. Students, professionals, hobbyists—all welcome. Teams of up to 3 people are allowed.

When does the hackathon start?

Dates are TBD. Register your interest above and we'll email you as soon as dates are confirmed.

How are winners selected?

A panel of judges evaluates submissions on data accuracy, UX, creativity, and community impact. Community voting contributes to the final score.

Do I have to use only ZipCheckup data?

ZipCheckup must be the primary data source, but you're welcome to combine it with other open datasets.

What if I don't know how to code?

No-code and low-code submissions are welcome! If you can create a compelling visualization or tool using our data, we want to see it.
