WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Illinois, east central and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.
WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM CDT Wednesday.
IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Thunderstorms and storm outflow may interrupt the heat at times.
Qué hacer: Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

WHERE...Portions of central and south central Iowa, including the Des Moines metro.
WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM CDT Wednesday.
IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS...While heat index values may not reach 105 degrees each day, the combination of the longevity of the heat and little or limited relief during the overnight periods with warm lows have prompted the multi-day Heat Advisory.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
